Hampden Elementary/Middle School #55 is a neighborhood public school serving children from Pre-K through 8th grade. Our school is located in the eclectic, vibrant neighborhood of Hampden.
Hampden #55’s history dates back to 1890, when Hampden itself was a small town built around 3 working mills. Hampden Elementary/Middle School #55 celebrated its 120th anniversary in 2010. The curriculum includes the Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards as well as a Gifted Advanced Learner program using the nationally renowned William and Mary curriculum Jacob’s Ladder, in Reading Grades 2–8, Springboard in Mathematics Grades 6–8, and Mentoring Mathematical Minds Grades 3–5.
