Welcome to Friends of Hampden EMS School 55
An all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Hampden Elementary/Middle School 55 by funding enrichment programs, outdoor spaces, teacher grants, improvement projects, and community partnerships.
We extend the impact of Hampden Elementary Middle School 55 by offering experiences beyond what public funding allows, empowering students, supporting educators, and strengthening community ties.
Our Mission
What We Do
Fund Small Grants
We support walkabouts, classroom reading nooks, after-school clubs, art supplies, and even school gardens grown by students.
Build & Maintain Learning Spaces
From sponsoring an outdoor classroom to supporting a vibrant mural and maintaining the school playground, we create spaces that inspire learning and community.
Advocate for the School
As parents, alumni, boosters, and neighbors, we are committed to advocacy, community, and excellence in school life.
Foster Community
We’ve organized fun fundraising events such as the “Flock Party” (flamingos), fitness events, and the Bull & Oyster Roast.
Staff Grants
Our staff grant program provides direct funding to school staff for projects that enhance learning, spark curiosity, and remove barriers to opportunity. By putting resources directly into the hands of the people who support students every day, we help ensure that support reaches students where it matters most, in their daily learning environment.
Fall Fundraiser
This fall, Friends of Hampden School #55 has big plans, and Flamingo Fest 2026 on September 12 is how we're bringing them to life. We're funding teacher grants for classroom needs and program development, supporting after-school clubs and special events, and sprucing up the Outdoor Classroom with fresh metal raised garden beds.
To make it all happen, we need the support of our community. Whether it's a one-time gift or a recurring donation, every contribution counts. Our goal this September is to raise $5,000, and to get there, we're aiming for 20 new recurring donors at $25 a month. Your gift provides the steady funding we need to plan and grow, year after year.
